A village centre is clustered around a church, which is dedicated to Saints Peter & Paul & is at least 800 years old. A Church of England primary school and a local hostel (A Maypole) come as well in the centre.

In a parish come many hamlets, including Hearts Delight & Chestnut Street. Farming within the area is the independent industry, although this has been in decline for numerous years due to the "scrubbing" of virtually all of the cherry & more fruit woodlet.

Now Borden is growing by owning recently houses & has greater ties by using Sittingbourne. Several residents currently commute to major even towns or London to function.
